Clove essential oil Syzygium aromaticum
This clove essential oil, obtained through CO₂ extraction, has a richer composition and a more refined, transparent aroma than conventional steam-distilled clove essential oil. Its fragrance is deep, vibrant, and warm, with surprising fruity and floral nuances that may delight and surprise you.
This is an aromatic material with a strong personality and should therefore be used sparingly. Clove CO₂ extract is dominated by eugenol (approximately 65% in our extract), which gives it its distinctive intensity and characteristic aroma.
In addition, thanks to its aromatic qualities, clove has long been valued and used as a culinary spice. This extract complies with EU regulations for flavouring substances in food.

- A very low concentration is sufficient to experience its effect—the aroma is rich, pleasant, and enticing, making it easy to use too much (see “Directions for Use” and “Warnings” below).
- In traditional aromatic plant practices, clove bud extract is described as a fragrance with a strong, warm character, particularly appreciated during the colder months when a cozier and fresher indoor atmosphere is desired.
- It is often chosen for aromatic blends intended to refresh living spaces, harmonize ambient scents, or enrich the fragrance of hygiene and personal care products.
- Its intense and invigorating aroma is especially noticeable when diffused into the air or added to massage oils, helping create a warmer and more energizing atmosphere.
- The high concentration of eugenol (approximately 65%) gives the extract its distinctive, powerful aromatic character and noticeable intensity, which is why it should be used sparingly.

- Clove bud essential oil is considered a “hot” oil—it may irritate the skin, respiratory tract, and eyes, and therefore should never be used undiluted.
- Add to an aroma diffuser or use for passive diffusion by placing a drop on a tissue or piece of fabric and positioning it on a radiator or another heat source. Due to its intense aroma, it is often used as part of blends (such as Microbe Buster), but if used on its own, start with just 1 drop per room.
- To enrich the fragrance of cosmetic products: add no more than 0.5% clove bud extract to a carrier oil; for clove leaf extract, use up to 0.6% (use a concentration calculator to determine exact amounts).
- Clove bud extract is widely used as an aromatic ingredient in cosmetics, perfumes, natural soaps, and oral care products.
- Despite the high phytochemical and aromatherapeutic quality of this essential oil, the aromatherapy community does not recommend internal use. Such use should only take place under the guidance of a qualified physician specializing in phytotherapy or a certified aromatherapist.
- Do not apply undiluted to the skin, as it can cause significant irritation. Always dilute in a carrier oil or butter. The maximum dermal concentration is 0.5% for clove bud essential oil and 0.6% for clove leaf essential oil (R. Tisserand & R. Young, Essential Oil Safety). - Do not use on sensitive, damaged, or compromised skin.
- Diffuse or inhale very sparingly, as it may irritate mucous membranes.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Do not use on children under 2 years of age.
- Despite its high phytochemical and aromatherapeutic quality, this oil is not intended for internal use. Such use should only be recommended by a qualified specialist, such as a physician specializing in phytotherapy or a certified aromatherapist.
