Murumuru butter, unrefined – the butter extracted from the seeds of the Amazonian murumuru palm is known as ‘vegetable silicone’ – due to its extraordinary ability to give the skin a silky smoothness, glide and softness reminiscent of silicone-based emollients. These exceptional sensory properties are also confirmed by research. Murumuru butter is rich in lauric and myristic acids, which soften the skin and help reduce moisture loss. On contact with the skin’s warmth, the butter melts, forming a gentle protective lipid layer.

Cupuaçu is a relative of the cacao tree that grows in the humid tropical forests of the Amazon. Unrefined butter made from its seeds is one of the most interesting plant-based ingredients used in cosmetics, notable for its ability to bind water. Studies have shown that cupuaçu butter can bind up to 4.4 times its own weight in water! This extraordinary property, combined with its rich composition of fatty acids and natural phytosterols, makes it particularly valuable for the care of dry skin. It softens the skin, helps protect it from moisture loss, and maintains its elasticity and softness. 

We highly value and always choose only unrefined vegetable oils and butters, as they retain more important bioactive substances – phytosterols, tocopherols and other valuable compounds from the unsaponifiable fraction. That is why our cosmetics are so effective!
