Shea butter – the most effective natural emollient and protective balm for dry skin. It soothes, moisturizes, protects and softens the skin.
The quality and, consequently, the properties of shea butter are highly dependent on the subtleties of the production method. We have been looking for the right quality of shea butter for a long time – to be produced by the traditional manual method; to be unrefined but of suitable microbiological quality (microbes, especially mold, are common in butter) – each batch is inspected in our microbiology laboratory.
The most important bioactive substances in unrefined shea butter are antioxidants, vitamins, catechins, phytosterols, terpene and phenolic derivatives.

Shea butter oil has a special combination of bioactive substances, including antioxidants, vitamins, catechins, phytosterols, terpenes and phenolic derivatives. As a result, application of shea butter oil is more effective in protecting the skin against cold and UV rays, and therefore against dryness, wrinkles and pigmentation; recommended for outdoor sports.
Shea butter protects against the cold, soothes skin inflammations, moisturises and softens the skin, and does not interfere with cell renewal.
Suitable for application anywhere on the body:
- dry lips, elbows, shins and feet;
- on the skin of babies and children;
- for the prevention of stretch marks;
- shaving irritated skin;
- softens and soothes the skin in cases of eczema and scaly skin;
- highly recommended in place of hand and face cream.
Absorbs more readily into wet skin, so we recommend moisturising with water or a hydrolatte;
Shea butter oil is the ideal emollient, protective, nourishing, softening balm for dry skin – for hands, lips, face (to nourish the skin, soothe inflammation, or protect against cold), calves, babies' bottoms and children's faces.
You can apply shea butter as much as you want, whenever you want, wherever you have dryness, sensitivity, scrapes, scratches...
Shea butter oil is suitable for topical massage of individual parts of the body – joints, hands, legs, feet. It is very fragrant. For a full body massage, one is a bit too hard, but adding 10-30% of any liquid unrefined oil (e.g. rosehip, sesame) makes it even more so. This mixture should be made without heating or melting, but simply whisked in a bowl.
Unrefined(!) Shea butter oil is a decongestant and helps those with runny noses, when the nose is stuffy and breathing through the mouth. Applying 0.2-0.4g of the oil to each nostril, the congestion disappears in 0.5-1.5min; the effect lasts 5-8h. No adverse reactions, irritation, dryness, reactive swelling (Tella A. Br.J. Clin.Pharmac. (1979), 7,495-497).
