Blue Tansy Chamomile essential oil Tanacetum annuum
Morocco
bot. Tanacetum annuum
The wild chamomile is almost extinct in the Mediterranean. Originally cultivated in Morocco, hence the name. The blue colour of the essential oil is due to the presence of chamazulene and other important bioactive compounds such as sabinene, camphor, myrcene and pinenes (alpha and beta).
