Sweet fennel seed essential oil has a soft, warm, sweet anise-like aroma that is traditionally associated with a sense of calm and inner balance. It is especially appreciated when tension is accompanied by discomfort in the abdominal area. In such cases, a diluted drop may be gently massaged into the solar plexus area.
Our sweet fennel essential oil belongs to the anethole chemotype, containing approximately 66% anethole, 10% limonene, and 3% estragole (methyl chavicol) (see the GC-MS chromatogram below).

Suitable for use in massage oils for anti-cellulite or lymphatic drainage massage; as a cosmetic ingredient for skin that has lost its radiance or is oily, and for swelling. The scent of fennel is said by aromatherapists to stimulate the appetite and can be smelled indoors when not eating.
