Grapefruit Oil has a familiar citrusy aroma, with the slightly bitter scent of the peel released into the air when peeling a ripe grapefruit. It is a very “sunny” aroma, often associated with an atmosphere of lightness and uplifted mood.

Grapefruit essential oil contains approximately 97% limonene, as well as small amounts of alpha-pinene and myrcene. Due to this composition, it has the following properties:

Warnings

Do not use undiluted on the skin, as it may cause irritation; dilute with a vegetable oil.
Oxidised (old) oil may irritate the skin.
