Copaiba Balsam Essential Oil Copaifera langsdorffii

Copaiba essential oil is distilled from the aromatic wood oleoresins of copaiba trees, known as copaiba balsam. This is an exudate produced in the tree’s secretory canals, which begins to flow from the trunk when the tree is damaged; in this way, the tree protects itself from parasites, pathogens, and herbivores.

It has a subtle, sustainable woody, amber-like, balsamic aroma. Our oil is rectified, meaning it is distilled using fractional distillation to achieve the best fragrance quality and a higher caryophyllene concentration (~50%).

In traditional sources, copaiba balsam is mentioned as a valuable part of Amazonian indigenous cultures, where it has been used in various body care and ceremonial practices.
