Why is the NATURALNESS of perfumery and home fragrances important?
It is not just a pleasure, it is part of a general physiological effect. After all, all the fragrant molecules inhaled with the air enter our lungs, blood, and brains, as well as those of our children and pets. And we breathe constantly; we cannot stop breathing...
Our health and that of our children greatly depends on what we breathe in. In cities, we are already inevitably exposed to high levels of air pollution, and whether we like it or not, we breathe in a lot of dust (i.e., particulate matter), soot, microplastics, nitrogen, sulfur oxides, VOCs (benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde), which cause cancer, cardiovascular and lung diseases, and allergies. Therefore, we must strive to maintain the healthiest possible environment indoors and be critical when choosing anything that has a scent, from cleaning products to perfumes. Natural plant essential oils not only smell pleasant. They bring us molecules from nature where they are sorely lacking and help to create an anti-stress, calming, biologically favorable environment. This is very important for city dwellers who live and work in a synthetic concrete environment, and even more so for the sensitive developing psyche of children.
Let's try to maintain an environment that is as similar as possible to that found in nature (as we say "clean air"), where there is maximum oxygen, minimum urban pollution; where there are also natural biological molecules from plants, fungi, soil microbes...
