Conifer Essential Oils
At Kvapų namai we have an extensive collection of conifer essential oils! And European origin oils deserve your special attention, not only because of their pleasant scents or effects, but also because of their shorter journey to Lithuania compared to foreign oils, Canadian, Japanese etc.
Research publications and our own GC-MS analyses show that the composition (and thus the scents) of coniferous essential oils varies considerably, not only depending on the species, but also on the country, the growing site, the microclimate, the collection and distillation seasons, the proportion of distilled needles-branches-roots etc. You will be surprised at how pleasant the essential oils of our Norway spruce, Scots pine, juniper or European fir smell!
Coniferous essential oils are also known as phytoncides for their antimicrobial purifying properties. We recommend using them for "forest bathing" at home, during the cold season, to boost immunity and protect against infections.
Conifer aromatherapy is special because of the monoterpene-rich essential oils of pine, spruce, fir, poplar, juniper and other familiar trees. They purify the air and are therefore particularly recommended during the cold season; they cleanse the respiratory tract; they stimulate the activity of the adrenal glands and help to restore strength, relieve fatigue and nervous tension, and provide a massage for the back, muscles and joints. It is worth mentioning the purifying properties - on physiological, psychological and spiritual levels.
Using coniferous essential oils
- aromatize the air in the room by evaporating in a diffuser
- Apply to wool, a pine cone, a piece of wood, place on a handkerchief and place on a warm radiator - the heat will make the scented molecules spread better
- In massage blends
- in full or foot baths - mix 3-6 drops of the essential oil with 50-100ml of cream, full-fat milk or a spoonful of honey and stir into the bath water; Lie down for 10-15min; the water should be pleasantly warm but not hot.
- We recommend that you read the safety instructions before using essential oils.
