Ginger has been known and used for more than 2500 years around the world. Interestingly, even in later centuries, those who have written about the active properties of ginger have repeated what was known about it a thousand years ago and more, and nowadays many of these properties have been confirmed by scientific research.

Ginger is:

stimulant, sexual tonic, excellent aphrodisiac;
an aperitif, digestive stimulant, decongestant, good digestive tonic;
a mild laxative.

Unfortunately, not all the properties and uses of this product are mentioned in our description. Due to the EU regulation of health claims, we cannot inform you in detail, even if the benefits of this product are scientifically proven.

Usage

In medicine, extracts of ginger are used in herbal remedies for the prevention of nausea and vomiting in motion sickness. Ginger has also been used for mild, cramp-like stomach problems and flatulence. The extract is used for coughs and sore throats. Ginger has antioxidative and antimicrobial effects. Studies have shown an effect against cardiovascular diseases.

Use ginger essential oil diluted in a base oil for rubbing:

when very tired, apply 1% massage oil along the spine, the solar plexus and the occiput;
for sexual fatigue, massage the lower abdomen and back and along the spine with 1% massage oil;
in case of indigestion, massage the abdomen;
topically rub the joints or massage the muscles.

Ginger essential oil forms synergy:

with cinnamon, clove essential oils – increasing the tonic, aphrodisiac properties;
with peppermint essential oil – increases digestive properties;

Perfumery

Perfumers have taken a liking to ginger because of its citrus scent and peppery aura. The warm, woody ea produces a refreshing spicy note, then a slightly sweeter note, but is not spicy. Often used in oriental fragrances to add warmth without weighing the fragrance down. Ginger oil blends beautifully with almost all essences – spices, woods, citrus, floral. Fragrance expert Stefen Arktander writes that ginger oil blends well with rosewood, cedarwood, coriander, citrus essential oils, rose de mai absolute, neroli. In floral compositions, ginger combines with sweet orange, lime, bergamot, etc.

The ginger extract gives food and drink an interesting, fresh, spicy and hot taste, so that the extract is often used in sweets, drinks, alcoholic beverages and also in rice, meat and other tasty dishes. Ginger products are popular in Asian and also European cuisine.

Due to its positive physiological properties, ginger extract can be used in various food supplements.

Because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, ginger can reduce UV-induced wrinkling and protect against skin aging. Ginger is also reported to improve blood circulation and thus help relieve tension. The ginger extract is therefore suitable for use in anti-aging products, sun creams, massage oils and relaxation baths. In addition, the ginger extract has a characteristic and invigorating aroma. Therefore the extract is also suitable as a fragrance in perfume, deodorants, shower gel and shampoos.
