Douglas Pine Essential Oil Pseudotsuga menziesii

Douglas Pine Essential Oil (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is distilled from a remarkable conifer with a wonderfully cosy, slightly sweet aroma.

It is a valuable addition to any aromatherapy collection, appreciated not only for its energising and refreshing scent but also for its harmonious conifer–citrus fragrance with delicate tropical fruit undertones. It performs beautifully on its own and blends exceptionally well with other conifer, wood, and citrus essential oils.

More recent aromatherapy sources suggest that diffusing Douglas fir essential oil is associated with a relaxing, calming atmosphere, helping to create a more peaceful and balanced environment. It is well suited for inhalation, use in diffusers, and diluted application in massage blends.

Douglas fir is native to North America and has been introduced to Europe. In Lithuania, it can be found in parks and urban green spaces. The tree is easily recognised by its distinctive cones, measuring 5–8 cm long and 2–3 cm wide, with thin, three-pointed bracts protruding between the cone scales.
