Chewing gum, lollipops or tasty toothpaste - that's how many people describe the sweet minty aroma of spearmint essential oil. Although it is called spearmint, it does not leave a sharp cold sensation in the nose and mouth because, unlike peppermint or spearmint, the oil is not dominated by menthol and menthone, but rather by carvone (>50%), limonene (>20%), and a few percent of eucalyptol (1.8 cineole). Our spearmint oil contain only <1% of menthol.
It is one of those scents that makes you smile when you smell it, because the aroma evokes only pleasant associations and memories. An oil that can even be vaporised in the workplace, as it will be welcomed by your colleagues too! The effect is more soothing than tonic.
In Lithuania, the plant has long been cultivated in gardens as an herbaceous and ornamental plant, and it spreads and grows easily. It is used as a flavouring in confectionery, cocktail sauces, teas and for colds.
