The toning and cooling properties of cornmint are valued in aromatherapy, perfumery, soap and cosmetic production, as well as in food flavouring.

Due to its intense, sharp aroma that creates a strong cooling sensation, cornmint essential oil is even more powerful than peppermint oil, thanks to its high content of menthol (~70%) and menthone (>10%). It is a natural source of menthol. Do not be surprised if, over time, you notice elongated transparent or whitish crystals inside the bottle — these are naturally crystallised menthol. This does not affect the quality of the essential oil: simply keep the bottle in a warmer environment (for example, in your palm or pocket), and the crystals will dissolve.
